Bayside brings literally the "sickest" song. 那三聲 sick 真是喊得雄壯威武啊!

"Truly madly deeply" claims the top spot of the Top 100 Adult Contemporary Songs as the AC Chart celebrates its 50th anniversary, according to Billboard. 

非美國本土歌手要登上 Hot 100 #1 一直都不是件容易的事  更不用說是以當時不吃香的抒情曲風了
但 Savage Garden 硬生生地打破這樣的魔咒  而且是連續兩支!!  truly madly deeply, I knew I loved you 相繼征服美國市場  主唱 Darren Hayes 迷人的歌聲也傳遍全球  包括了台灣

但好景不常  花園開張只有短短地3-4年間  開了兩朵美麗的花後便宣告關閉  只留下二張全球銷量皆超過千萬張的作品
少了搭檔 Daniel 在創作方面的市場靈敏度  Darren 單飛後的作品一直無法廣受歡迎  成績自然每況愈下

藝名取自本名 Ricki-Lee Coulter 的 Ricki-Lee 是Australian Idol第二屆(2004)的參賽者
憑著亮麗的外型以及不錯的歌藝  即使最後沒能勝出  還是獲得發行個人專輯的機會  事後證明唱片公司也押對了寶  她的出道同名專輯以及第二張 Brand New Day 的幾支單曲都在澳洲榜上有不錯的成績

雖然實力大致上受到肯定  然而像她這樣唱著普普通通的流行歌曲  兼顧到外貌協會跟胸奴一族的出眾外型往往會喧賓奪主  一不小心操作就會模糊了焦點  當然也就很容易被指為"殺很大"的偶像派
第三張專輯的暖身單曲 don't miss you & hear no, see no, speak no 就像坐溜滑梯一樣成績一落千丈  以至專輯至今仍未發行  可以印證這樣的事實
除了個人的歌唱事業  Ricki-Lee 另外和其他Australian Idol的參賽者組成了女子團體 Young Divas  歌路基本上不變  只是再撈一筆
唱片公司可謂物盡其用  消費AU Idol這個光環跟這些女性參賽者到底  這樣感覺其實不是很好

首波單曲 die trying 早在去年已經上路  如今專輯 Vices And Virtues 發行  They are the new hope of Canadian post-grunge that reminds you of Three Days Grace and Default. "Whole world's crazy" is the 2nd single.

Avril Lavigne - what the hell (acoustic version)
The regular edition sounds just too juvenile.  Acoustic version is much simpler yet not loosing its adolescent/young adult feeling.

Death Cab For Cutie - you are a tourist
DCFC 發表新作  開頭那幾小節的旋律相當入耳(這還是我第一次聽得慣他們的單曲)  新專輯 Codes And Keys 預計5月底發行

Foo Fighters - rope
The Foos bring us back some pure rock and roll!  Rope debuted at #1 on rock chart.

[搖滾] Crazy Town - butterfly / sorry / waste of time
相信不少朋友還記得 butterfly 這首不知道從那兒冒出來的超洗腦冠軍單曲(2000)  它會登上冠軍實在是個奇蹟  因為 Crazy Town 本是個沒沒無聞的團體  而且它是第三支單曲  距離專輯發行已經一年
不過之後 Crazy Town 也沒有因此而受惠  接下來的專輯 Darkhouse 完全無消無息  butterfly 也成了榜上有名的 one hit wonder

[電音] Dance Nation - dance!
來自荷蘭的電音團體  這首2002的歌應該是當時有上英國榜才會被我發現  標準的歐式熱力舞曲 

[抒情搖滾] David Franj - oxygen
來自澳洲的 David Franj 當年(2002)在自己國家的榜上留下了這麼一首動人的搖滾情歌 

[流行] David Sneddon - stop living the lie
來自英國唱作俱佳的美男子  是選秀節目 Fame Academy 的第一屆優勝者  stop living the lie 當年(2003)拿下英國榜冠軍  相當棒的抒情歌  結果後來他竟然只有一張專輯的命  真是令人匪夷所思...

[流行] Debbie Gibson - lost in your eyes

電影喜歡拍續集  歌曲也喜歡搞 part I, part II
去年(2010)跟前年(2009)很紅的兩支曲子 love the way you lie, empire state of mind 的助陣歌手 Rihanna, Alicia Keys 不約而同地都在自己的專輯裡唱了這兩首歌的 part II 版
除了令人不禁覺得真是無巧不成書  也喚醒了我們對於「續集」歌曲的記憶
只是跟多數續集電影票房不如第一集一樣  part II 的歌曲鮮少拿來當主打歌  要紅過 part I 則更是少之又少了

Beady Eye = Oasis 2.o, without the elder brother Noel. This song "the roller" is from their upcoming debut album "Different Gear, Still Speeding" to be released 2/28.

BSP 推出新專輯 Valhalla Dancehall  這裡的 easy, control 分別是第一跟第二支單曲  很標準的英式獨立  一聽就知道是英搖 

Cold War Kids - louder than ever
非主流歌曲一句 "I can hear you louder than ever" 有著神奇的難忘性  另類團體 CWK 的這首歌在排行榜上後勢看俏

從早期的搞怪形象到 Try This 專輯裡的 trouble 一曲為她贏得葛萊美獎最佳搖滾女演唱後開始極力轉型為實力派流行搖滾歌手  Pink 歌壇打滾十年有餘  也創下亮麗的成績
總計有10首 Hot 100 top 10  包括一首個人冠軍單曲 so what 及一首合唱冠軍單曲 lady Marmalade  此外  sober, u + ur hand, who knew 都是生命力極強的常青單曲  在成人流行榜上停留都長達數十週  廣受歡迎

Billboard雜誌明確地為2010年下了結論: 2010 is the year of pop, the year music turned pop.
卡卡小姐帶起的 Dance Pop 方興未艾  到了2010由 Ke$ha, Taio Cruz 接棒  Usher, Chris Brown, Enrique Iglesias 也都相繼見風轉舵
甚至 Rihanna 也不得不加入戰場  才隔一年就再發新專輯  主打歌 only girl 也走流行舞曲路線  再加上原本就是Pop派的 Katy Perry 從暑假起就高唱跟著加州女孩一起party
要不是有 need you now 跟 hey, soul sister 這兩股清流撐著  2010年可謂整個淪陷
當然也別忘了另一股潮流  就是像 nothin' on you, love the way you lie 這樣rap+sing的歌如雨後春筍般出現

所以  講了半天  搖滾呢?  沒錯  答案就是: 看不到
(美國市場)2010全年銷量最高的搖滾專輯是 Kid Rock "Born Free"  總排名第34名(有人記得去年 Linkin Park 有出新專輯嗎?  是的  賣得比 Kid Rock 差)  淒慘無比
一些具有市場知名度的團體如 Alter Bridge, Finger Eleven, Goo Goo Dolls, Hinder, Jimmy Eat World, Maroon 5, My Chemical Romance, Story Of The Year, Trapt 的新專輯不僅成績都差強人意  單曲也沒能引起太大的迴響
尤其是 Stone Temple Pilots 時隔9年的新作  雖然主打歌在搖滾榜登頂  專輯首週也有亞軍  後續的單曲卻是靜悄悄的  反倒是另類團體如 Vampire Weekend, Arcade Fire 比較有爆點  拿下冠軍專輯
另外有一點巧合的是  2010有三位名人堂級的吉他手推出新專輯  分別是 Carlos Santana, Jimmy Hendrix, Slash  相信忠實的搖滾迷們有這三張專輯就滿足了(Jimmy Hendrix已故  Santana 是舊歌翻唱  因此不列入我個人評選範圍內)

聖誕歌(Christmas Songs)
轉眼間2010年接近尾聲  又是聽聽應景聖誕歌的時候  今年我就偷懶一下  併著新歌快訊為大家介紹今年新發行且不錯聽的聖誕歌(有些是舊歌翻唱)
今年新出爐的聖誕歌還頗多  由天后 Mariah Carey打頭陣  大翻身的 Train 搭著可口可樂廣告出了一首很棒的新歌  另外也有搖滾風的另類聖誕歌  連樂界最惡名昭彰的大嘴 Kanye West 都加入戰局
當然這也是今年最後一期新歌快訊  希望大家在聽歌的同時  都有個merry Christmas and happy holidays!
