西洋音樂告示牌

日前  VH1發表了從2000到2009年最棒的100首歌(the 100 greatest songs of the '00s)  由 Beyonce "crazy in love" 拿下#1寶座
很顯然地  這不是按照電台播放/銷量排行榜成績所產生的名單  因為那是 Billboard 的工作  而 Billboard 給我們的冠軍是 Mariah Carey "we belong together" (同樣期間)
Beyonce 在 Billboard 的榜單上名次最好的是 irreplaceable (#25)  crazy in love 則位居#40

這是第一個我完整參與西洋音樂的10年  因此看這份名單特別有感覺
除了還是不知道 VH1 是用什麼方式/方法產生這份名單的之外  發表以下幾點感言:

VH1 basically pretty much ignored rock and country songs, but VH1's selection is at least more market/mainstream oriented compared to lists from other sources.

若以50名為分界點  我認為以下這些歌都不應該落在後50: Kryptonite (3 Doors Down), it wasn't me (Shaggy), you're beautiful (James Blunt), I try (Macy Gray), unwell (Matchbox Twenty), hero (Enrique Eglesias),  how you remind me (Nickelback), bring me to life (Evanescence), bleeding love (Leona Lewis), I'm yours (Jason Mraz)

同樣地  我認為以下這些歌落在前50(或更高的名次)值得商確: Lady Marmalade (因為是翻唱), I kissed a girl (Katy Perry), party in the USA (Miley Cyrus), daughters (John Mayer), get the party started (I love Pink, but this is not one of her best), bootylicious (where's "independent women" if we're pick Destiny's Child's songs?), clocks (Coldplay), in da club (50 Cent)

基本上選這種期間長達10年的名單有個弔詭  因為人都是短期記憶  所以近幾年的歌比較容易因為鮮明的記憶而入選
然而  越是早期的歌越是蓋棺定論  有流傳下來大家記得住的歌基本上就是代表了那個年代  沒什麼疑問
於是選出來的結果是  近幾年的歌出現得多  但過幾年再回頭看  有些歌並不見得俱有實至名歸的代表性

另外  這些歌沒入選  可惜了
2000 - Stan (Eminem ft. Dido), wonderful (Everclear), superman (Five For Fighting), bring on the rain (Jo Dee Messina), I hope you dance (Lee Ann Womack), hanging by a moment (Lifehouse), absolutely (Ninedays), simple kind of life (No Doubt)

2001 - hit'em up style (Blu Cantrell), I'm not a girl not yet a woman (Britney Spears), wherever you will go (The Calling), one last breath (Creed), wasting my time (Default), always on time (Ja Rule ft. Ashanti), the middle (Jimmy Eat World), all you wanted (Michelle Branch), she hates me (Puddle Of Mudd), whenever wherever (Shakira), aerials (System Of A Down)

2002 - days go by (Dirty Vegas), travelin' soldier (Dixie Chicks), somebody like you (Keith Urban), I need a girl pt. 1 (P. Diddy ft. Usher & Loon), the game of love (Santana ft. Michelle Branch), innervision (System Of A Down), she's my kind of rain (Tim McGraw), headstrong (Trapt), a thousand miles (Vanessa Carlton)

2003 - when I'm gone (3 Doors Down), if I ain't got you (Alicia Keys), hands down (Dashboard Confessional), think twice (Eve 6), the reason (Hoobastank), numb (Linkin Park), this one's for the girls (Martina McBride), so far away (Staind), Ocean Avenue (Yellowcard)

2004 - so cold (Breaking Benjamin), megalomaniac (Incubus), you'll think of me (Keith Urban), I don't wanna know (Mario Winans ft. P. Diddy & Enya), love's divine (Seal), burn (Usher)

2005 - from yesterday (30 Seconds To Mars), just stop (Disturbed), like we never loved at all (Faith Hill & Tim McGraw), lips of an angel (Hinder), because of you (Kelly Clarkson), be without you (Mary J. Blige), lonely no more (Rob Thomas), truth (Seether), baby girl (Sugarland)

2006 - the diary of Jane (Breaking Benjamin), candyman (Christina Aguilera), not ready to make nice (Dixie Chicks), Anna Molly (Incubus), who knew (Pink), what hurts the most (Rascal Flatts), temperature (Sean Paul), stay (Sugarland), picture to burn (Taylor Swift)

2007 - no one (Alicia Keys), I don't care (Apocalyptica ft. Adam Gontier), just a dream (Carrie Underwood), beautiful disaster (Jon McLaughlin), like suicide (Seether)

2008 - inside the fire (Disturbed), hot n cold (Katy Perry), all summer long (Kid Rock), shattered (O.A.R.), love in this club (Usher ft. Young Jeezy)

2009 - nothin' on you (B.o.B ft. Bruno Mars), cowboy Casanova (Carrie Underwood), hotel room service (Pitbull), I do not hook up (Kelly Clarkson), dead flowers (Miranda Lambert), hey soul sister (Train), zero (Yeah Yeah Yeahs)

以上選擇未把英、澳的歌手/團體納入考量
