Once again, all in a blink of an eye Christmas is just a week away. It's time to listen to some great Christmas songs.
As the year 2009 comes to its end, Christmas is not only a time to celebrate but also a time to review and reflect. It's a time to be together with the people you love and to think of that we are lucky enough to be able to enjoy the music and the time to together.

2009 has been a difficult and shocking year for everyone with events like the death of Michael Jackson and the fall of GM, but it's also a remarkable year as we've witnessed the first African American to become the President of the US. To me, it's first full year of writing this blog. After 18 months of blogging, I've realized that it's hard. It takes enthusiasm, determination, and time, if you want to have some good content in your own blog. It's like your brainchild because no one asked you to do it; it's all self-motivated. I truly appreciate every visitors to my blog, especially those who gave me compliment and encouragement. I am really glad that what I write can bring you guys something and you guys liked it.

Here are several songs that were recently included into my Christmas playlist. Aqua's "spin me a Christmas" is the only new song from this year. Lady Gaga's "Christmas tree" is from 2008. KT Tunstall and Leighton Meester covered the same song. Listen, enjoy, and merry Christmas and happy holidays!

3STM 的最新專輯 This Is War 有些詭異甚至不像搖滾的歌曲  還找了 Kanye West 合作  整體感覺是概念性大於市場性  就連這裡推薦的 night of the hunter 也不是很主流    

Filter - fades like a photograph
電影2012的票房跟原聲帶銷量差距懸殊  除了大家的焦點: Adam Lambert 唱的主題曲 time for miracles  這首由 Filter 獻唱的 fades like a photograph 才是真正為所有搖滾樂迷所準備的

Francesca Battistelli - free to be me
雖然被歸類為福音  但 Francesca 這首入圍葛萊美最佳福音演唱的 free to be me 曲調基本上跟一般美式成人搖滾沒什麼不同(2008年的舊歌了)

 

第52屆葛萊美獎將於美國時間1/31/2010晚上在 L.A. 的 Staples Center 舉行  入圍名單於日前(12/2)揭曉  並跟去年一樣地藉由 nomination concert 暖身炒熱氣氛  以挽回逐漸減少的收視群

在上屆得獎結果被嘰笑為 "Granny Awards" 之後  綜觀本次入圍名單有明顯向主流靠攏的現象
三大獎 Album/Single/Record Of The Year 的重覆率極高  Beyonce, Black Eyed Peas, Lady GaGa, Taylor Swift 是最大贏家 (入圍即是肯定 :P)  大致上跟排行榜上的成績吻合
另一項大獎最佳新人就非常多元化  有鄉村的 Zac Brown Band  有流行/R&B的 Keri Hilson  有另類的 MGMT  有另類/獨立搖滾的 Silversun Pickups  有來自英國的 The Ting s Tings

最佳流行女歌手  以 Grammy 的品味來判斷  估計 Katy Perry, Pink, Taylor Swift 都是陪榜居多  應該會是 Adele or Beyonce  最佳流行男歌手就很難猜了  基本上五個都是 Grammy 偏愛的類型
最佳流行團體  Grammy 再犯老毛病頒給冷門的 Hall & Oates or MGMT 也不是不可能

2009年的全美音樂獎(American Music Awards)於美國時間11/22晚間舉行
Taylor Swift 擊敗 Beyonce, Lady Gaga 拿下 Pop/Rock 類女歌手獎  再次驗證了她是當今全美最受歡迎的女歌手 (今年只要是觀眾投票的獎有 Taylor Swift 入圍  基本上大概可以直接把獎給她這個強力吸票機  不用投了)
有兩個項目最後誰會得獎閉著眼睛也猜得到: Soul/R&B 類最受歡迎女歌手 Keyshia Cole, Keri Hilson 的人氣怎麼跟 Beyonce 比?  Soul/R&B 類最受歡迎團體/重唱組 Day 26, Mary Mary 的人氣怎麼跟 Black Eyed Peas 比?
而最讓人一頭霧水的大概是 Gloriana 拿下 Breakthrough Artist (他們上台領獎的時候自己都說了: How many of you were thinking "who the heck is Gloriana?" 哈~ 果然很有自知之明)  不過其實這也有跡可循  因為他們幫 Taylor Swift 的 Fearless Tour 開場  等於是沾了 Taylor Swift 的人氣  把他們送上天

然而跟其他由大眾票選的音樂獎一樣  誰得獎似乎不是那麼重要(反正不過就是拚人氣嘛...)
尤其是每年 AMA 的提名越來越集中在某幾個藝人身上(因為提名標準是根據 record sales + airplay  這兩個指標本來就是大者越大  強者更強)  加上除了 Artist Of The Year 跟 Breakthrough Artist  其他獎項都只有三個提名  有些贏家就像前面提的不用等到結果揭曉也猜得到
反倒是頒獎典禮上的表演吸引了更多的目光  AMA 今年也沒讓大家失望  請到的藝人都是一時之選  表演內容也都精心籌劃  十分精彩  以下是幾段影片...

第43屆的 Country Music Association Awards 於美國時間11/11/2009晚上舉行  這個獎項是由約6000名的 CMA 成員投票選出  有別於 The Academy Of Country Music, CMA 成員投票的考量是比較偏重於商業成績上的表現

本屆頒獎典禮仍由 Brad Paisley + Carrie Underwood 再度攜手主持  得獎的焦點看來看去怎麼看都還是 Taylor Swift  她一個人抱走了4項大獎: 最佳女歌手, 年度專輯, 年度音樂錄影帶 (love story), 以及最大獎年度最佳藝人 (Entertainer Of The Year)  是史上最年輕的得主
另外  逐漸竄起的 Lady Antebellum 也有所展獲  奪下了 Single Of The Year (I run to you), Vocal Group Of The Year 兩項大獎
而 Sugarland 在重唱組這個獎項上三次提名三次得獎  目前為止是完全打擊
當然  還另一個美麗的焦點就是主持人 Carrie Underwood  她像在開服裝秀一樣地總共換了大概有10套禮服  並豔光四射地表演了新歌 cowboy casanova  也讓整個典禮錦上添花

搖滾
Creed - away in silence / on my sleeve
Creed 的復出專輯 Full Circle 已經發行  是一張貼近市場的標準 post-grunge 作品  其中的兩首抒情曲 rain (2nd single), away in silence 讓人覺得他們變「柔軟」了
我覺得這樣在旋律上多加著墨的轉變也沒什麼不好  可以吸引不同的聽眾  on my sleeve 則是典型的中板主流重搖滾

Dashboard Confessional - alter the ending / until morning
如預期地  DC 帶來一張主流搖滾專輯  until morning 行板  alter the ending 較快板  有那麼一點 Yellowcard 的味道  都好聽  (我也不會形容了:P  聽了就知道~)
特別的是  此專輯的 Delux Edition 採雙 CD 包裝  兩張曲目一模一樣  啥? 坑人嗎?  不是的  是把同樣的歌全部改編成 acoustic 版

The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus 成軍於2003年  2006年的出道單曲 face down 就讓他們初嚐走紅滋味  雖然是一支搖滾曲  卻在主流的 Hot 100 及 Top 40 榜上受到歡迎  也因此另外出了除去原版嘶吼聲的"大眾版"

 

平常對於電音舞曲接觸的很少  資訊來源大多是UK+AU的排行榜  美國榜極少極少會出現這類型的歌曲  上一次 Billboard Hot 100 出現這類狄斯可大舞廳應該是2005年的 D.H.T. - listen to your heart
不過有在注意英國榜的朋友應該都知道這類歌曲在英國甚至整個歐洲都佔有一席之地  剛好最近英國榜上出現了兩首這樣的 electropop/dance-pop  都因為好聽+洗腦而令人印象深刻  所以在此特別介紹一下

Chipmunk - oopsy daisy 應該很多朋友都知道了  前二週的 UK #1  是 rap (Chipmunk) + 流行電音 (Dayo Olatunji)  其實要是沒有 Dayo Olatunji 唱歌的部份  這首歌應該也成不了大器吧...  關於 Chipmunk 的介紹請點這裡



Medina 則是來自丹麥  根據資料  這首歌的原版 kun for mig 早已紅遍全丹麥  也因此得以有機會進軍英國  在排行榜跟大家見面  純正的迷幻電音
